Sunrise... Sunset
You just HAVE to sing that title like Fiddler On The Roof!! It's GOT to be the best musical of all time; well, right next to Les Miserables. But I digress...
We went for a drive yesterday. It was a beautiful day!! Next time I'll have to roll the window down but it was just too flippin cold for that!!!
We were coming home just as the sun was setting and it was GORGEOUS!!!!
This is my favorite one. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I kinda wish that it was farm land rather than the road with telephone poles but at the same time I think it's pretty cool. Could be a thought provoking pictures that way. I will be running along this very stretch of road in a little less than 3 months for my first marathon!
** Check below for previous photowalks that I wasn't able to post until today! Is that cheating?

Little Bird
It may appear that I have dropped off the face of the earth but I assure you that it isn't the case! I even have pictures from these previous weeks. However, we have had computer trouble and ended up having to get a new one {hated to spend the money on that}.
SO... this is what you get. A bird perching on a teeny tiny branch of a weed! Unfortunately I don't have the mega zoom lens that I quite possibly covet, AND due to the new computer, I no longer have CS2; so this really is as good as it gets!
This is the view just out my back window. And this bird, among others, serenade me each morning and throughout the day. It's a sure sign that Spring is on the way... not sure how I feel about that just yet. Guess it will come whether I'm ready or not.

Close Up Branches
I have wanted to mess around with close up shots. And with Spring just around the corner I wanted to take some pictures of some branches. Spring won't actually be here for another month or so but the snow is melting. It won't be long before these very branches have buds on them! I love how I can focus on something so close and have the things behind be blurry. It's cool!
My favorite tree is the pine tree. I have specific varieties that I prefer over others but I just love them! I love the color they bring during those long winter months. I dream of the day when I have at least one big pine tree in my front yard that I can put Christmas lights on!

It was fun doing these close up shots. I think I'll be playing more with this!!!

John Deere
Take a ride in my John Deere Tractor!
Okay so it isn't mine, it's my Dad's. I loved climbing up inside and seeing all the tools on the dash.
The grime, the crud, the dirt and hay... it brings back so many memories. Clear back to when I was VERY young riding in the back of the tractor bailin' hay.
One of these days I'll get enough ambition to make another quilt... and it very likely will be a John Deere!

Heaven
A few days snowboarding will do a girl a world of good!!! It was HEAVEN to get away from moving boxes, unpacking and just PLAY!!!
These mountains are my home. My solace. My strength.
Be still my soul!
Boy did we get a workout in those two days!! We got in PLENTY of snowboarding...
snowshoeing
And our last day there we decided we wanted POWDER!! To get that we went hiking over where we had gone snowshoeing the previous day. It was well worth it to earn our turns!! There's NOTHING like good powder!!
And just for fun...
Haven't been on many photowalks lately. Moving & being sick will really throw a wrench in a girls schedule!!! We're back on track though so stay tuned!

Cheat
My computer crashed a couple weeks ago. So I sorta cheated! The last two posts were back dated, despite the pictures being taken on time. This one, however, is a real cheat. I haven't taken anything recently so I dug through the file "RECOVERED" on my desktop {yes they were able to save EVERYTHING} and found this beautiful shot.
Her face is a bit washed out {even after my husband edited it}. But I can't help it. I love it anyway.

my view
This is the view from my treadmill.
I look out this window at this tree 2-3 times a week. I could draw a picture of this thing perfectly with my eyes closed!!! Sometimes I hate this tree but then I just remind myself that I hate the treadmill more. Had I been running outside and ran PAST this tree I would probably have loved it; especially if there were no houses around it. It's not its fault that it was planted in town.
And then I remind myself that if it were not for this tree, I would actually just be staring at the houses across the street and the cars driving by. So in reality, I love this tree. Thank you for making my boring treadmill runs more pleasant!

Yukon Charlie
Today I busted out my new show shoes!!! I have been SO excited to use these babies! My man of the house was home from work today so he watched the sprouts for me so I could buck a few drifts! I drove to a nearby lake and I was off for a great workout and a moments peace! Aren't they AWESOME!!
At first there were a lot of other tracks but soon I was able to break trail for myself!! There is something about being surrounded by untouched snow and leaving your very own mark. Like hitting the slopes first at the ski hill just after a killer snow... there's nothing like it!
I "frolicked" {yeah, great word for snowshoeing... thanks for the help babe... psh} around the the island a bit and then did a loop around the lake.
I love funky trees.
It was a great day! I am already all geared up for my next trip!

Winter Wonderland
It has been snowing and snowing and snowing!! It's my favorite kind of snow too. Big snowflakes coming straight down {no wind}. Makes for EXCELLENT snowboarding but I love how it rests on the trees and fences.
This is my parents front yard.
I drove up Ski Hill Road and drove past some old friend's homes. I love this old barn.
Then I drove up to the cemetery. This is where my husband and I will be buried. You can't see the mountains for the low clouds but it is the most beautiful view.
A view out the car window before I headed back home. My hometown is the most beautiful and peaceful place on earth.
